How KSEB Calculator Works ?
The KSEB Electricity Bill Calculator helps you figure out your electricity bill based on how much power you use. Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of how it works:
Step 1 : Enter Your Details:
You start by entering some basic information like your billing cycle (1 month or 2 months), the number of units you’ve consumed, and whether you have a single-phase or three-phase connection.
Step 2 : Calculate Energy Charge (EC):
If your average monthly consumption is up to 250 units, the calculator uses telescopic rates. This means it divides your usage into slabs, and each slab is charged at a different rate.

If your average monthly consumption is more than 250 units, it uses a non-telescopic rate, which applies a single rate to all your units.
Step 3 : Add Other Charges:
Electricity Duty: This is 10% of your energy charge.
Fuel Surcharge: This is an extra charge of 10 paise per unit to cover fuel costs.
Fixed Charge: This is a monthly charge based on the total units consumed and the type of connection (single-phase or three-phase).
Meter Rent: A small monthly fee for your electricity meter, with GST added.
Calculate Total: The calculator adds up all these charges to give you the total amount due.
Understanding KSEB Electricity Bill Calculation by Example
Let’s say you have a single-phase connection and used 250 units in one month. Here’s how the calculator works it out:
- First 50 units at ₹3.25/unit = ₹162.50
- Next 50 units at ₹4.05/unit = ₹202.50
- Next 50 units at ₹5.10/unit = ₹255.00
- Next 50 units at ₹6.95/unit = ₹347.50
- Last 50 units at ₹8.20/unit = ₹410.00
Total Energy Charge (EC) = ₹1377.50
- Electricity Duty = 10% of EC = ₹137.75
- Fuel Surcharge = 250 units * ₹0.10 = ₹25.00
- Fixed Charge = ₹130 (for single-phase, 250 units)
- Meter Rent = ₹6.00
- Meter Rent Central GST = ₹0.54
- Meter Rent State GST = ₹0.54
- Monthly Fuel Surcharge [KSEBL] = ₹25.00
Total Amount = ₹1377.50 + ₹137.75 + ₹25.00 + ₹130 + ₹6.00 + ₹0.54 + ₹0.54 + ₹25.00 = ₹1702.33
And that’s it! The calculator gives you a clear breakdown of your electricity bill, making it easy to understand how much you owe and why.
